A BASF research team commissioned Astronaut to present their current results in a new and approachable way that would help them attract further support from new partners. They let us loose in the facilities and we explored the various locations of the research process.The BASF researchers, led by Marc Frick, have developed a new type of aerogel that can be used to make slim, efficient and mechanically strong panels. The high insulation rating and minimal space requirements offer a broad spectrum of design potential, e.g. for new and modernized buildings. Our use of film and photography helps communicate a complex scientific invention through editorialized visuals that everyone can understand.
